Research Interests: My interests involve molecular genetics in an ecological context to understand population structure and the selective forces that shape biological diversity. In the past my research has consisted of two major themes: 1) conservation genetics in threatened and endangered populations, and 2) the phenotypic interface of coevolutionary dynamics among interacting species. Currently I am using microsatellite data to investigate population dynamics in stands of Fremont cottonwoods that have been invaded by an aggressive exotic shrub (Tamarix spp.).
